Why we love/hate Sucker Punch

March 16, 2013

I’m more than happy to share this. Its a good post looking at why a film like Sucker Punch fell down other than ‘it sucked LOL’ and dismisses the whole argument that the film was feminist like it clearly needed to be.

Why we love/hate Sucker Punch.

  1. I felt I owed you a brief comment, which I will turn into a discussion if you want, since you were so cordial and I feel bad closing a topic on someone that was sincere in their questions. To answer your last question, and brace yourself this may sound harsh, but my post wasn’t concerned with LGBT rights at all actually. That was not my focus. As an adoptee, my focus was only on the children, in regards to that post. I am not homophobic, my opinions are not based on sexual preference, and I hope that LGBT groups get EVERY right eventually that they want and that in time the world accepts everyone. Perhaps when that happens my inhibitions on the topic I wrote about will be gone. I hope that makes sense, even if you do not necessarily agree with it. Thank you again for the visit.

    • Don’t worry man. I had a reply ready so we could get into further discussion on the topic, but I think I was a bit too late trying to post it :p.

What in particular engenders you to your belief other than a feeling that ‘its right?’. I only ask because sometimes those fundamental beliefs are ones we need to challenge.

More importantly, did you manage to get any sleep after that graveyard shift? :p

  2. Sure man. Do let me know.

  3. An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!
